Dredging the Pelican Bay Marina
Saratoga Springs City is dredging their marina! Yay! We are always excited to see municipalities taking care of Utah Lake.
The Pelican Bay Marina, a.k.a. Saratoga Springs City Marina, is located on the southern end of Saratoga Springs. You can get directions to the marina on our Access Points page, which has a Google Map showing all 27 public access points on Utah Lake.
The dredging project is currently ongoing, with a projected completion date in mid-June of this year. Almost 2,000 gallons of material is pumped through the pipe every minute. The plan is to lower the lake bed inside the marina, and just outside its opening by about 3 feet. It is a wet dredging system, so they are siting the material at the marina, in a cordoned off area, to allow the water to return to Utah Lake by settling through the soil.
